University of Nebraska Programs and Centers

The Partners in Pollution Prevention (P3) Internship provides a unique opportunity for upper level engineering students to receive hands-on experience providing Nebraska businesses with technical assistance. The EPA Region VII funded program is based at UNL, with assistance from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, and Nebraska Cooperative Extension offices.

The Industrial Agricultural Products Center (IAPC) at UNL was established in 1988 by the Board of Regents to identify and promote the development of new industrial uses for Nebraska's agricultural commodities. Their goal is to work with members of private industry to develop new products and technology that use agriculturally-based raw materials and protect the environment.

The Center for Sustainable Agricultural Systems was formed in 1991 at UNL to bring together people and resources to promote an agriculture that is efficient, profitable, and environmentally and socially sustainable for the indefinite future.

The Nebraska Center for Applied Rural Innovation works to develop an economically viable, environmentally sound, socially acceptable and sustainable rural community.

On-site Wastewater Treatment Task Force - UNL is partnering with other state and local agencies to develop resources.
